Alexis Petrakis  (that's me) is a freelance writer and founder of Teleon Communications, a strategic communications firm that provides financial writing, marketing, and communications services. I specialize in financial content and investment communications and have experience writing for a variety of audiences -- from savvy institutional investors to less sophisticated retail audiences. I have collaborated with a diverse group of organizations, ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. Clients have included BlackRock, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Raymond James Financial Services, CB Richard Ellis, Grubb & Ellis, JP Morgan Chase, Navistar, DealerTrack, DeVry, RS Investments, and the Chicago Board Options Exchange, among others. I have also published articles under my own byline and on behalf of numerous executives in publications, such as: Currents (investment news from BlackRock), Treasury Management International, UrbanLand (The magazine of the Urban Land Institute), The Institutional Real Estate Letter, Real Assets Magazine, Real Estate Forum, and many others.

Prior to establishing Teleon Communications, I worked for The Financial Relations Board, one of the nation's oldest financial public relations firms, where I  wrote for the agency’s professional services marketing and investor relations divisions. Previously, I worked in the Investor Services Department of The Balcor Company, a real estate investment firm that pioneered real estate limited partnerships. As assistant vice president of investor services, I was responsible for coordinating and executing investor communications for more than 150 real estate limited partnerships with a total client base of over 400,000 investors and financial consultants.  

I earned a degree in economics from Northwestern University.
